Pi Facilitators

Adam McCready, Chi Deuteron ’02 (George Washington) 

Adam current serves as the Program Assistant to the University Activities Organization at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. While working toward a Masters of Arts in College Student Personnel at BGSU, Adam has facilitated workshops with student organizations across North America on the topics of membership recruitment, motivating group members, and improving public relations. Upon his graduation in May, he will continue his professional career as the Coordinator for Greek Life at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH.

Brother McCready was initiated into the Chi Deuteron Charge in the spring of 1999. After graduating from GW in 2002, Adam joined the Central Fraternity Office staff as a Charge Consultant, serving in that capacity until the 158th Convention in 2005.

After retiring from the CFO staff, Brother McCready was elected to the 129th Grand Lodge as the Graduate Secretary, a position he continues to serve for the fraternity. He also volunteers his time as a member of the Kappa Charge (Tufts) Steering Committee, and represents Theta Delta Chi on the North American Interfraternity Conference Board of Directors Nominating Committee.

Brother McCready is also an avid runner, and is a veteran of two marathons. He is currently training for the Boston Marathon on April, 16th, running on the behalf of the BGSU Children’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon.

Rudolf Frederik Peksens, Brigadier General, US Air Force (Ret)

Brigadier General Rudolf Peksens, USAF (Ret) is Director, Strategic Pursuits, Command and Control Systems, Raytheon Company, Marlborough, Massachusetts. Prior to assuming that position in October 2003, he had been an Assistant Vice President with Science Applications International Corporation

General Peksens graduated from Tufts University in 1966. While there, he was a member of the Kappa Charge of Theta Delta Chi and represented the fraternity on the Inter-fraternity Council. He is also a graduate of the Naval College of Command and Staff, Newport, RI, and the National War College, Washington, DC.

Also in 1966, he was commissioned in the United States Air Force; he retired in 1995. An experienced military commander and combat aviator, General Peksens is the only US Air Force officer to have flown fighter, bomber and reconnaissance aircraft in combat. He is a command pilot with nearly 3,900 flying hours, including more than 600 combat hours in operations over Vietnam and Iraq

During his Air Force career, General Peksens commanded: the 26th Reconnaissance Wing at Zweibrucken Air Base, Germany; the 52nd Fighter Wing "Wild Weasels" at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany; and the 410th Bomb Wing at KI Sawyer Air Force Base, Michigan.

Richard Wood, PhD, Gamma Triton '73

Richard Wood, PhD, Gamma Triton '73, is an education consultant and President of Wood Educational Service, LLC. Dr. Wood and his partners specialize in working with failing schools as turn-around specialists and academic coaches primarily in Michigan, however their work frequently takes them to a variety of states. Prior to educational consulting, Dr. Wood served as the Director of Educational Technology for a major school suburban school district outside of Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Wood graduated from Michigan State University in 1973 with a degree in Elementary Education. As an undergraduate he served as treasurer and president of Gamma Triton Charge. Since graduation, Dr. Wood has earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

As an Educational Consultant, Dr. Wood is a sought after speaker for many national organizations and school districts. He has worked with the Michigan Department of Education and most recently participated in an educational mission to the People’s Republic of China. He has also taught classes for several different universities in Michigan.

In 1997, Dr. Wood chaired the 150th Anniversary of Theta Delta Chi and has planned several of the annual conventions in the late 90’s. Currently, he is the Secretary of the Educational Foundation and has championed the cause of educational and leadership programming for the International Fraternity.
